Can You Use Higgsfield for Free? The 0-Credit Free Plan and the Cheapest Way to Try It (2026)

What can you do on the Higgsfield Free plan?
The Higgsfield Free plan is a tier that lets you browse the site and generate with a small set of models after signing up, and it includes no credits at all. The help center's plans article (August 1, 2026) says you can generate without a paid plan, but access is limited to a small set of models and doesn't include credits. The help center's official platforms article (September 5, 2026) answers "Is Higgsfield AI free?" by saying Higgsfield plans are paid.
The Free column of the pricing page comparison table, checked on October 8, 2026, shows the following.
- It is labeled "Limited use" and lists 0 credits.
- Concurrent jobs are 1 each for video, image and lipsync.
- Among image models, Nano Banana Pro and FLUX.2 Pro are marked "Included"; the other image models are not included.
- Some video models, such as Kling 2.5 Turbo and Wan 2.5 Fast, show "0 videos" in the Free column.
- Access to characters and Higgsfield ads are included, while Start & End Frame, Higgsfield Speak, UGC builder, fast-track generation and commercial use are marked not included.
We could not find an official number for how many images or videos the Free plan allows per day. Using Higgsfield through MCP from an AI agent such as Claude, or through the CLI from a coding agent, also requires an active paid subscription according to the help center, and those routes always deduct credits.
How do Free, Starter and Plus differ?
The biggest differences between the Higgsfield Free plan and the paid plans are monthly credits (0 versus 270 or more) and the watermark, and concurrency and model access also grow with each tier. The table below reproduces the official pricing page as of October 8, 2026 (US$, taxes excluded).
| Item | Free | Starter | Plus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | $0 | $19/month (also $19/month billed annually) | $59/month ($47/month billed annually) |
| Monthly credits | 0 | 270 | 1,200 |
| Watermark | On every output | None | None |
| Concurrent generations (comparison table) | 1 video, 1 image | 2 videos, 4 images | 6 videos, 8 images |
| Models | A small set | Selected models incl. Seedance 2.0 Fast and 2.0 Mini | All models and features |
| Commercial use (pricing table) | Not included | Included | Included |
The English annual-billing view lists Plus concurrency as "Unlimited paid parallel generations (New)," so the figure differs by screen. According to the plan card, Starter's 270 credits equal 135 Nano Banana Pro images or about 15 Seedance 2.0 Fast videos. Per-credit costs and full pricing up to Ultra are covered in our [Higgsfield pricing, plans and refunds guide](/en/higgsfield-pricing/).
Higgsfield free watermark: every free-account output carries one
Every image and video made on a free Higgsfield account is stamped with a Higgsfield watermark, and outputs made on any paid plan are not. The help center's watermark article (August 3, 2026) sets out five rules.
- The watermark depends only on account type, not on the model, credits used or output quality.
- There is no setting to turn it off, and watermark removal is not sold separately.
- Upgrading does not remove watermarks from outputs made on the free account. To get a clean file, regenerate it.
- Canceling does not add watermarks to old outputs. Free-account rules apply to new generations made after the paid period ends.
- Separately from the visible watermark, paid outputs can also carry invisible markers or metadata identifying them as AI-generated. The Terms of Use also say Higgsfield may embed provenance signals such as those based on C2PA.
Can you use Free plan outputs commercially? The official sources disagree
Official Higgsfield sources disagree on commercial use of Free plan outputs, so anything meant for ads or client work is safer made on a paid plan. Here are the three official documents we checked through October 8, 2026, in date order.
- Terms of Use, Section 4.4 (last updated July 26, 2026): Higgsfield does not claim ownership of inputs or outputs and does not restrict commercial use of outputs. No plan distinction is made.
- Help center rights article (August 2, 2026): asked whether commercial use is restricted to paid plans, it says no, because the Terms of Use do not tie commercial rights to a plan. It adds that publishing watermarked content in commercial contexts may not be appropriate depending on the use case.
- Pricing page comparison table (checked October 8, 2026): the Free column lists Commercial use as "Not included," while Starter, Plus and Ultra list it as "Included."
The Terms and help center allow commercial use of free outputs, but the pricing table excludes it from the Free plan and free outputs carry a watermark anyway. Until the two sources are reconciled, making paid work on a paid plan leaves less room for disputes. On any plan, you do not have to credit Higgsfield when publishing, and Sections 5.1(iii) and 5.2(iv) of the Terms prohibit using outputs to train other AI models.
"Daily free credits" are not confirmed by any official source
The "Higgsfield daily free credits" claims circulating online are not confirmed anywhere in the official pricing page or the 71 help center articles we checked on October 8, 2026. The Free column lists 0 credits, and no page mentions daily or monthly free credit grants.
The confusion has three sources.
- Paid plan cards include an "UNLIMITED & FREE GENS" section. The help center's credits article (August 3, 2026) describes these free generations as a one-time pool granted when you buy the plan that does not renew with the subscription. They are a paid-plan perk, not a free-account perk.
- The July $0 one-day trial spread under a "free unlimited" headline. That promotion has ended (see below).
- Offers of "free Higgsfield" circulate outside the official site. The help center's official platforms article warns that such offers outside higgsfield.ai are a common way to collect passwords and payment details, and says Higgsfield does not sell lifetime plans, transferable accounts or reseller subscriptions.
The July $0 trial and the referral program have ended
The $0 one-day unlimited trial and the Seedance 2.0 referral program that Higgsfield ran in July 2026 have both passed their deadlines and are not available now.
- $0 one-day unlimited trial: announced on the official blog on July 22 and ended on July 23 at 1:30 PM UTC. It was limited to new users on the free plan, required card details at checkout, and renewed automatically into a monthly Plus subscription after 24 hours.
- Referral program: announced on the official blog on July 14 with a July 17 deadline. If 1, 2 or 3 invited friends bought a paid plan and generated, the inviter got 3, 5 or 7 days of unlimited Seedance 2.0, and friends got up to 60% off. The inviter also had to be on Plus or higher, so it was never a route for free users.

As of October 8, 2026, the pricing page shows a sign-up discount banner. The Korean pricing page offers a special 30% discount to try Ultra's unlimited Nano Banana 2 and Pro for 7 days, but that is a discount on a paid plan, not free use. The help center says these offers are personalized and differ by account.
The cheapest way to try it: one month of Starter and the 7-day refund rule
The cheapest way to use Higgsfield without a watermark is to pay for one month of the Starter plan, which costs $19 for 270 credits. According to the help center's refund article (August 1, 2026), initial purchases are refundable within 7 days (or as permitted by the law where you live) only if no credits have been used. Renewals are not refundable.
- Sign up for a free account and look around the interface and model list first.
- Subscribe to Starter monthly. Starter costs $19 a month on annual billing too, so there is no reason to commit to a year.
- During the first 7 days, judge output quality with the plan's included free generations, which use no credits. Per the plan card on October 8, 2026, Starter includes 10 free AI Influencer generations and 10 free Ads Studio generations, and the help center says free generations and Unlimited model generations do not count as credit usage.
- If it is not for you, contact support (higgsfield.ai/contact) within 7 days with your account email, purchase date, amount and reason. A service fee of up to 6% is deducted, processing takes up to 3 business days, and the account moves to the free tier as soon as the refund is approved.
- If it is for you, start spending credits. If you do not plan to continue next month, turn off auto-renewal via Manage Account → Subscription → Plan Settings → Manage Subscription → Show → Cancel Subscription. Canceling is not a refund; it only stops the next charge.

To stretch 270 credits, follow Higgsfield's official beginner guide: test at 720p first and change one thing per retry. For prompts that cut down on retries, see our [Higgsfield prompt examples](/en/higgsfield-prompts/).
Free Higgsfield alternative: open-source Wan-Animate is the only fully free option
The fully free way to swap a person in a video outside Higgsfield is to run the open-source Wan-Animate yourself, and in practice it needs a high-end NVIDIA GPU. Wan2.2-Animate is released under the Apache-2.0 license and loads as a character replacement template in ComfyUI. Mac users are better off renting a cloud ComfyUI service.
Our [AI video person swap guide](/en/ai-video-person-swap-guide/) compares the cost and multi-person support of Higgsfield Genjutsu, Kling, template apps and Wan-Animate. As of September 2026, Wan-Animate was the only fully free option among them.
Who the Higgsfield Free plan is for, and who it is not for
The Higgsfield Free plan is suited to people who want to preview the interface and model lineup, and it is not suited to people who want to post results on social media or in ads. It has 0 credits and puts a Higgsfield watermark on every output.
ASAP's view is that the Higgsfield Free plan is a display shelf, not a trial. With no credits, only a few models and a watermark on every result, it gives you almost nothing to judge quality with. The real test window is the first 7 days after paying for Starter, using the free generations that cost no credits. If the results disappoint, request a refund; if they work, start spending credits. That order loses the least money. Clicking a "free" offer outside the official site can end up being the most expensive choice.
